Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Farm Made Goodness from the Snowy Valleys
Gilmore Valley Grove is a family owned and operated farm nestled in the picturesque Gilmore Valley, in the Snowy Valleys of New South Wales, between the beautiful towns of Tumut and Batlow. Surrounded by rolling hills, cold winters and warm summers, our unique climate provides the perfect conditions for producing premium Australian extra virgin olive oil.
Our journey truly began from the ground up. Every olive tree was planted by hand as tiny tube stock, nurtured with patience, determination and plenty of hard work. In 2020, after years of caring for our grove, we celebrated our very first harvest and The Rusty Bus Extra Virgin Olive Oil was born.
From the beginning, our focus has never been on producing the highest yield. Instead, we harvest our olives early and have them pressed within hours to capture their fresh, vibrant flavour, natural health benefits and exceptional quality. It's a decision that means sacrificing quantity, but one we're proud to make every season.
Like most farming families, our journey hasn't always been easy. Our young grove was planted just before one of New South Wales' worst droughts. We then endured the devastating Black Summer bushfires, losing our ute but thankfully saving our grove and home. Not long after came the challenges of La Niña, where relentless rain and waterlogged soils claimed some of our younger trees. Along the way we've continued to battle pests, disease and the many uncertainties that come with farming, but every challenge has strengthened our commitment to producing quality food sustainably.
That dedication was recognised when we entered the Australian International Olive Awards for the first time in 2023, receiving two Gold Medals and Reserve Champion Varietal Extra Virgin Olive Oil. In 2024, we were honoured once again with two Gold Medals, confirming the quality and consistency of our premium extra virgin olive oil.
Today, Gilmore Valley Grove is about much more than olive oil. While our award-winning Rusty Bus Extra Virgin Olive Oil remains at the heart of everything we do, we've developed a growing range of artisan products inspired by our passion for quality local food.
Our collection now includes Lemon Agrumato Olive Oil, Snowy Valley Dukkah made with locally grown Batlow hazelnuts and Australian almonds and pistachios, caramelised balsamic vinegar, table olives, gourmet garlic salts and other seasonal products. Wherever possible, we proudly use locally sourced Australian ingredients, supporting fellow regional producers and showcasing the incredible flavours of the Snowy Valleys.
We also grow a small commercial crop of herbicide and pesticide free garlic, carefully planted, mulched, weeded, harvested and cured by hand. Our garlic, along with herbs and lemons grown on the farm, forms the basis of our handcrafted garlic salt range, created in our humble country kitchen.
Everything we produce reflects our commitment to sustainable, low intervention farming, caring for the land and creating food we're proud to share with others.
Whether you're discovering premium extra virgin olive oil for the first time or you're already passionate about great food, we hope our products inspire you to slow down, gather around the table and enjoy simple, honest flavours made with care.
Thank you for supporting our small family business.

Our beautiful, water loving Tallulah, who we promised to move to a farm with a dam where she could swim at her own leisure. To her delight, the promise was fulfilled.
We said goodbye to her at the age of 17 in 2022.
She loved trips in the Kombi, which is why you can see the dog sitting up front in our GVG logo. It’s our way of keeping her with us on every adventure.
